Creamery Club Handbook

Naturally Produced, From Pasture to Pour
Heavy Hollow Farm is a family-owned creamery in Lancaster, Kentucky, producing fresh, raw A2/A2 Jersey milk and raw milk products with care and integrity.
Our herd of A2/A2 Jersey cows are disease-tested, clean, and grass-fed on organic hay with a small amount of grain at milking. We never use soy, corn, pesticides, antibiotics, or vaccines—just natural, holistic farming that keeps our cows healthy and our milk pure.

FAQ & Policies
When you join our Herd Share, you agree to our member terms and conditions.
Yes. Our cows are disease-tested and clean, and we test our milk weekly to ensure safety and quality.
No. We never use antibiotics, hormones, or growth enhancers on our milking cows. If a cow ever required antibiotics for a true medical emergency, she would be removed from our milking line. We also do not vaccinate our milking cows.
We manage herd health holistically — clean feed, low stress, and strong immune systems. We never use pesticides or harmful chemicals on the farm. Our focus is a clean, natural environment for our cows and the milk they produce.
You are welcome to send a friend or family member to pickup in your place, or we can donate the share on your behalf.
Member Tips & Resources
Milk Storage Tips
We bottle our milk fresh, ensuring peak flavor and longevity compared to grocery store gallons. Follow these tried and true tips to make that farm-fresh flavor last:
- Refridgerate ASAP. Store raw milk at or below 38°F (3°C) as soon as possible after pickup. The colder it stays, the longer it lasts. Even short periods above 40°F can shorten shelf life and affect flavor.
- Pour Fresh. When using milk, pour what you need into a separate container — never drink straight from the jar. Returning a used jar to the fridge introduces bacteria that can spoil the milk faster.
- Store in the reusable glass jars provided. Glass helps maintain the milk’s flavor and temperature better than plastic. Avoid metal containers, which can react with the milk’s natural enzymes.
Remember to thoroughly wash your glass jars before returning them!
